Bryony Whiley of the Food & Drink Forum describes the different types of support that the Forum can provide for food and drink businesses of all sizes and with varying needs to help them grow and succeed.

The Food & Drink Forum, established in 1998, is an industry‐led, not‐for‐profit organisation driving positive change within the food and drink industry. The Forum's hands‐on approach enables food and drink businesses to grow and provides them with the knowledge and confidence required to comply with the increasing number of regulations within the industry.

With its unique approach of accessing public funding as well as working in the private sector, the Forum is led by an industry board consisting of individuals sourced from food and drink businesses, academic institutions and other key bodies involved in food and drink manufacturing and supply chains. Over the past 22 years, the Forum has helped to secure over £40m of public funding for the food and drink sector, £11m of which has been secured since 2016.

Originally established as a Regional Food Group for the East Midlands, the Forum has now developed a strong reputation for supporting and developing successful food enterprises as well as representing the industry at a local, regional and national level. Working with national funding bodies, local and regional economic development agencies, local councils and, most importantly, the businesses within the sector, the Forum continues to stimulate and support the sustainable development of the industry.

The core support provided by the Forum is delivered through food park development and facility hire, food technical support and consultancy, membership business support services and publicly funded support as well as events and training.
