FeedUK – building resilience by digitising the food system
Food Science and Technology Pub Date : 2020-12-11 , DOI: 10.1002/fsat.3404_13.x

Simon Baty, Matt Butchers and Matthew Moss of KTN, introduce FeedUK, an ambitious, new initiative aiming to drive adoption of digital technology and data collection to deliver a fully connected food system in the UK.

FeedUK will be a large national collaborative four year programme, led by the food industry. It will revolutionise the UK's approach to its food and drink system, drive technology adoption and aim to make the UK food and drink system the most robust and innovative globally.

The food system is complex, interdependent, global and local, evolving and responsive to knocks and challenges. Oversight of the system would enable multi stakeholders to better understand and manage the overall system and their specific part in it1.

KTN is supporting the FeedUK programme by facilitating sector engagement and fostering connections with the goal of achieving a sector which, through digital connectivity, is economically, socially and environmentally resilient.
