Comparative analysis of novel drafting devices and traditional roller drafting device in ring spinning on the acceleration point distribution and yarn properties

Abstract

Controlling the acceleration points of floating fibers has a profound influence on yarn properties. To analyze the mechanism of a novel drafting device in ring spinning machine on the fiber movement, this paper comparatively analyzes the acceleration point distributions and corresponding yarn properties between the novel drafting devices and the traditional roller drafting device by means of the simulation and experiments. Both results of simulation and experiments prove that the novel drafting device of A-2 can significantly reduce the dispersion of the acceleration points due to its improved and extended friction filed. Besides, the experimental results show that the novel drafting system of A-2 obtains improved yarn evenness and breaking strength, which achieves the advanced level of Uster statistics. This lays the foundation for the research and the development of the novel drafting systems.
