We discuss the inception and history of Behavior and Social Issues (BSI) and its predecessor journals, Behaviorists for Social Action Journal and Behavior Analysis and Social Action, as the journals approach 40 years of combined publication. In addition, we conducted a quantitative analysis of BSI’s article impact, content, and frequent contributors to date. Data indicate that BSI has served as a valuable outlet to discuss and conceptualize applications of behavior analysis to a range of social issues.
