The regularities of the behavior of the intensity of stresses in the surface layer of ground Al2O3–TiC ceramics under the action of force loads are established on the basis of the main concepts of computer engineering. The formation of microstructural stress concentrators on the interface of the plastically deformed layer with the original ceramics is discovered. These concentrators may serve as causes of the initiation of in-service defects followed by the structural degradation of the ceramics.
