Abstract

The current research article deals with the study of deformation in a non-homogeneous orthotropic micropolar medium. It is assumed that the functionally graded material has non-homogeneous mechanical properties in the x-direction. The exact analytical expressions for the displacement and stress components are obtained in the physical domain by using the normal mode analysis technique. These components are then computed numerically using MATLAB software for aluminum epoxy composite as micropolar material and are also depicted graphically to show the variations of physical quantities. The comparisons have been carried out to show the effect of anisotropy on all physical quantities.
