Optical satellite network (OSN) plays an important role in broadband applications of space-based information. For OSNs, the premise of data transmission and routing is allocating wavelength resource. However, the dynamic characteristics of OSNs, i.e., intermittent link connection and time-varying topology make it difficult to estimate wavelength requirements in OSNs. In this letter, we study wavelength multiplexing in intermittent optical inter-satellite links and present a method based on space-time evolving graph to estimate required wavelengths in dynamic OSNs. Some indicators are proposed to represent topology variation and numerical simulations have been conducted to investigate impacts of topology variation on wavelength requirements.
