Our front cover features an H&E staining of core fucosyltransferase (Fut8), which is significantly up‐regulated in lung adenocarcinoma. The image is taken from Zhang et al. (pp. 1820–1833), where the authors report that loss of core fucosylation catalyzed by Fut8 significantly enhanced CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) activation and cytotoxicity by increasing programmed cell death 1 (PD‐1) ubiquitination which in turn led to the degradation of PD‐1 in the proteasome and more efficient tumor eradication. PD‐1 plays a crucial role in CTL activation and provides antitumor responses. The current work indicates that inhibition of core fucosylation is a unique strategy to down‐regulate PD‐1 expression for the anti‐lung adenocarcinoma immune therapy in the future.
