Call for papers: Special section on intelligent optimization and scheduling

Due to various complexities in rea I-world systems, intelligent optimization algorithms have been successfully applied to complex problems in a variety of engineering fields which cannot be solved effectively by traditional methods. Inspired by the behavior, experience, and cognition from nature and society systems, data-driven intelligent optimization aims to achieve consistent results effectively and efficiently based on the mechanisms of computational intelligence. During the past decade, increasing attention has been paid to theoretical analysis, algorithm design, and performance improvement of intelligent optimization as well as a wide range of applications especially scheduling problems. Intelligent optimization and scheduling theory, algorithms and applications have become frontier researches full of both opportunities and challenges. The aim of this Special Section is to reflect the state-of-the-art of intelligent optimization and scheduling (IOS) with interdisciplinary developments, providing a platform to share innovative work in such an emerging and significant area.
