A certificateless ring signature scheme with batch verification for applications in VANET

One of the most important challenges in secure and efficient communications for Vehicular Ad hoc NETworks (VANET) is proposing an appropriate authentication scheme. On the other hand, commonly used authentication approaches cannot be directly applied since they would lead to the violation of the privacy of the involved vehicles. In this paper, to address the security and privacy issues in VANETs, we propose an efficient certificateless ring signature (BV-CLRS) with batch verification that ensures conditional privacy preservation authentication for VANET communication. Significantly, the BV-CLRS reduces the computational and communication overhead. Moreover, our security analysis shows that the proposed scheme is more efficient than the existing schemes in case of the signature generation and verification process.
