Abstract
Treatment of peroxide ozonolysis products of the bicyclic monoterpenes (–)-α-pinene and (+)-3-carene with 4-hydroxybenzohydrazide in methylene chloride or tetrahydrofuran gave the corresponding keto acids, whereas keto esters were formed in methanol.
