Marine debris is a serious and worldwide environmental problem. In particular, most marine debris is comprised of plastics, which decompose in natural conditions for decades to hundreds of years. They have been distributed across the ocean since the 1970s. Marine plastics have a very low recycling rate due to concerns associated seawater and attachment of microorganisms. Collected plastics are subjected to a pre-treatment process that is not efficient due to the heat generated during grinding. For this reason, cryogenic grinding using liquid nitrogen has been developed. In this study, they were applied to concrete as a marine waste treatment method.
