Meeboldia linearis X. L. Guo, W. Gou&X. J. He (Apiaceae), a new species from Xizang, China, is described and illustrated. The new species resembles M. achilleifolia and M. yunnanensis by having taproot epidermis with annular scars, slender umbels, white petals with inflexed apex, lanceolate calyx teeth and ovoid mericarps with several vittae in each furrow (2–3) and commissure (4). However, M. linearis develops linear ultimate segments of the leaves, flaky remnant leaf sheaths, few rays (3–5) and narrowly ovoid mericarps with filiform ribs distinctively differing from those of M. achilleifolia and M. yunnanensis. In addition, a molecular phylogenetic analysis based on ITS sequences showed that M. linearis is sister to M. yunnanensis and all three Meeboldia species formed a well‐supported monophyletic group in the Acronema clade.
