Abstract

Lower Permian organogenic buildups in the north of the Timan–Pechora basin are mound-type structures, whose deposits are characterized by an extremely irregular distribution of reservoir properties due to facial zoning and genetic features. Two types of buildup, skeletal and microbial, were distinguished based on the dominant limestone lithotypes composing them and, correspondingly, paleo-assemblages of benthic organisms. The differences between these buildups are the key to understanding the distribution of petroleum reservoirs within the studied stratigraphic interval.

Timan–Pechora

Timan–Pechora
