A novel proposal for PhC-based OADC for Gray code generation

In this paper we aim to propose and design an all optical analog to digital converter for generating 2-bit Gray codes from the optical intensity of the input signal. Two nonlinear resonant rings will be used for realizing the proposed structure. These nonlinear resonators should be designed such that they can drop optical waves at different optical intensity ranges. The nonlinear resonators will be created by adding some nonlinear rods between the outer rods and the core rods. According to the simulation results the rise time for the proposed structure is about 2 ps.
