Battery aging is becoming a major concern in mobile devices such as laptops or smartphones and often results in premature device replacement. This perspective article gives an overview of recent advances made in battery-health-aware charging and highlights the benefits of making chargers more intelligent to improve the cycle life of different battery-powered devices.
