Structure and Mineral Composition of Soil Cement Based on Kaolinite Clay Modified with a Complex Hydrophobic–Plasticizer Additive Based on Polycarboxylate Ether and Octyltriethoxysilane

The effect of polycarboxylate ether and a complex hydrophobic–plasticizer additive on the structure and mineral composition of soil cement based on kaolinite clay with kaolinite content of more than 95% was studied. Research methods included X-ray phase analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, and electron-scanning microscopy. Patterns of the effect of polycarboxylate ether and a complex hydrophobic–plasticizer additive on the formation of Portland cement hydration products in strengthened clay were determined, and changes in the structure of modified samples of soil cement based on kaolinite clay were revealed.
