Hydrodynamics and transport processes in porous materials under terawatt laser irradiation

Porous materials have many applications for laser-matter interaction experiments related to inertial confinement fusion. Obtaining new knowledge about the properties of the laser-produced plasma of porous media is a challenging task. In this work we review the development and the validation of the MULTI-FM code, by discussing the theoretical model on which the code is based, its implementation and the experiments on which the code has been tested. The experiments have been performed with the ABC laser located in the ENEA Research Center in Frascati.
