Abstract

Interactions of 5,6-diaryl-3-(quinolin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazines with arynes are studied. 2-(3,4-Diarylisoqunolin-1-yl)quinolines are obtained in up to 65% yield via the inverse-demand Diels-Alder reaction between 5,6-diaryl-3-(quinolone-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazines and benzyne, generated in situ.
