In car‐bicycle collision simulations, it is often the case that conditions are set so that the direction of travel of the bicycle is orthogonal to that of the car. However, in actual traffic accidents, the position and posture of the bicycle at the time of the collision are not always constant. In this paper, we reproduced a two‐lane straight road with frequent traffic using a cycling simulator constructed using Virtual Reality technology. Then, we collected information on the position and orientation of the collision with a car when the elderly crossed a right turn while cycling. © 2020 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
