Fast decaying ground states for elliptic equations with exponential nonlinearity

We show the existence of positive minimal energy solutions for the equation div(K(x)u)=K(x)f(u) in R2, where K(x)=exp(|x|24) and f:RR is a superlinear continuous function with exponential subcritical or exponential critical growth. We use as a main tool the Nehari manifold method.
