In this article, Chad S. Hewitt was originally credited in the acknowledgements. Subsequent internal discussion made it clear that, rather than only assisting in the expression of proteins UCHL3 and UCHL1C90A for experiments, C.S.H. solely designed the plasmids and performed the whole expression and isolation of both proteins. These were contributions that should have gone beyond acknowledgement and deserved authorship on the paper.

The corresponding author apologizes for this error.
