Generation of nondiffraction beam with arbitrary focusing direction using metasurface

ABSTRACT A planar metasurface is designed to replace the traditional three-dimensional axicon lens to generate a nondiffraction in normal direction at first. Then, to generate Bessel beams that can be tilted in any direction, we add the phase distribution information derived from the generalized Snell’s reflection law to the traditional axicon phase distribution formula. Finally, a metasurface with a nondiffracting beam inclined to φ of 30° and θ of 30° is designed by employing the final modified phase information for demonstration. The simulated results indicate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed theory and design.
