Effects of Oil Pollution on Indigenous Bacterial Diversity and Community Structure of Soil in Fushun, Liaoning Province, China

Abstract

Four hundred fifty four pyrosequencing was used to analyze the microbial community and diversity of oily farmland soil from Fushun, Liaoning Province, China. The results showed that a total of 114 Phyla, 262 Classes, 430 Orders, 685 Families, 869 Genera, and 294 Species were detected and summarized in the soil microbe. The petroleum hydrocarbons significantly changed the structure and diversity of soil microbial communities. Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Actinobacteria, Acidobacteria, Gemmatimonadetes, Nitrospirae, Firmicutes, Verrucomicrobia, Elusimicrobia became the dominant flora in oil-contaminated areas. And the changes in the main bacterial flora in the soil were highly correlated with soil TPH (total petroleum hydrocarbon), pH and SOM (soil organic matter). The prediction of community metabolism function exhibited that 8 KEGG pathways were significantly enriched in petroleum contaminated soil, and the abundance of Proteobacteria, Moraxellaceae, Enterobacteriales and Sphingobacteriales significantly decreased under the stress of oil pollution. This research provided a theoretical and technical basis for the development and application of functional strains in the future.
