Revival of resonance shape parameter in elastic scattering of H atom with charged fullerenes C60z+

Scattering resonances in the elastic collision of a hydrogen atom with positively charged fullerenes (C60z+) are studied computationally employing different model potentials. Interaction potentials of H atom with charged fullerenes are simulated by varying heights of the barrier maxima offered by the fullerene C60 species. Scattering cross-section of different partial waves exhibit resonances in the background of glory oscillations. Though the resonant energy and shape of the resonance are seen varying for scattering with different charged states of C60, the pattern of glory oscillation remains the same. When a resonance is swept across one full wavelength of glory oscillation by varying the interaction potential, its “shape parameter” is evolved and revived to that of H-C60 scattering. This work reports that scattering with charged fullerenes can have the same shape parameter of the resonances as in the case of scattering with neutral C60.
