Abstract
Polyurethane bentone coatings were prepared using high shear homogenizer (HSH@4000rpm, a high shear instrument), mixer (M@40rpm) along with ultrasonicator bath(USB), to visualize the impact of the processing instruments on the structure, properties, performance of polyurethane/bentone 38 coatings. We also alter the sequencing of the instruments i.e. parallel and series sequencing of USB and HSH, USB and M, tried to visualize the impact of shear of the instruments. We replaced bentone 38 with C20A and studied the effect of different organoclays on mechanical properties of PU/Clay coatings. Morphology of the coatings was studied using XRD and TEM, mechanical properties were evaluated by nanoindentation. Performance of the coatings was evaluated by flame retardancy and water absorption studies.中文翻译:
