Excellent piezoelectric properties and high Tc in Fe2O3-doped PMW-PNN-PZT ceramics

Abstract In this work, in order to develop piezoelectric ceramics sintered at low temperature with high piezoelectric d31 coefficient, Pb(Mg1/2W1/2)0.03(Ni1/3Nb2/3)0.09(Zr0.5Ti0.5)0.88O3 ceramics were fabricated as a function of the amount of Fe2O3 addition using a conventional mixed oxide method. The microstructure, dielectric and piezoelectric properties were systematically investigated as a function of amount of Fe2O3 addition. At the sintering temperature of 920 °C, the excellent values of density = 7.94 (g/cm3), piezoelectric coefficient (d31) = 246 pC/N, planar electromechanical coupling coefficient (kp) = 0.69, mechanical quality factor (Qm) = 213, dielectric constant (εr) = 2,682 and high Curie temperature =366 °C were obtained from the ceramics doped with 0.3 wt% Fe2O3, respectively.
