A new aryl bis‐sulfoxide derivative was designed, synthetized and structurally characterized in solution and in solid state. The chemical behaviour of the newly obtained 1,3‐(para‐tolylsulfinyl)‐5‐tert‐butyl‐benzene 2 was evaluated towards tin, silicon and phosphorus containing derivatives. In the case of Sn(II) derivative, the potential of bis‐sulfoxide 2 as a pincer type ligand was suggested.
