Abstract

The blue or green visible to the naked eye chemiluminescence of the divalent europium ions, generated by the acceptance of energy from triplet-excited isobutyraldehyde—a product of the oxidation of diisobutylaluminium hydride by oxygen in tetrahydrofuran—was found and studied.
