Turn-On Assay for HIV-1 Protease Inhibitor Selection

Virus threatens our lives and health at all times. Among them, HIV has caused millions of deaths since its discovery. Research on viral inhibitor selection has become an urgent need. A reliable turn-on assay for HIV-1 protease (HIV-1 PR) inhibitor selection has been developed. The feasibility assay of protease detection was demonstrated based on fluorescence resonance energy transfer between graphene oxide and dye-modified peptides. Besides the rapid and sensitive detection of HIV-1 PR, the enzyme kinetic parameters were also measured. Most importantly, this assay was applied in the distinction of protease inhibitor efficiency and the unknown inhibitor selection.
