Keeping tracts on track: The FimH adhesion protein has long been identified a potential therapeutic target for UPEC‐induced UTIs. As such, a substantial body of research has been conducted into the development of a mannose‐based FimH antagonist. Herein, we discuss the rationale behind this targeting approach and the three main categories of mannose‐based FimH inhibitors.
