Fabrication, microstructure, morphological and magnetic properties of W-type ferrite by co-precipitation method: Antibacterial activity

W-type hexaferrites nanoparticles are synthesized employing the Co-precipitation method. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) study reveals polycrystalline nanoparticles having the W-type hexagonal ferrites (HF) structure with the space group P63/mmc. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) show a blue shift in lower frequency and higher frequency bands. UV-Spectra (Ultraviolet visible) show persistent energy band around 450 nm and band gap change of 0.1 eV for substitution. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) microstructure shows the grains projecting hexagonal faces. The loops of Vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) explain an appreciable change in magnetic properties and magnetic signature. Screening of antibacterial activity has been performed for the nanosized HFs/PVP (Polyvinylpyrrolidone) hybrid composite against gram positive and gram negative strains of clinical sources.
