The moving average (MA) and double moving average (DMA) control charts are a good alternative to the Shewhart chart to detect small to moderate shifts of the process mean more quickly. In this article, we propose the triple moving average (TMA) control chart to improve the detection ability of the MA chart. It is shown that the proposed chart is more effective than the MA and DMA charts in detecting small to moderate shifts for a small value of span $w$. However, this range of shifts decreases as the value of $w$ increases. The application of the proposed chart is demonstrated through two examples.
