The pine wood nematode Bursaphelenchus xylophilus is a destructive pest on Pinus trees and lacks effective control measures. The present study identified a novel nematotoxic cytolytic (Cyt)‐like protein originating from the entomopathogenic fungus Conidiobolus obscurus.
