The great challenge of extending the telecommunication networks to the underwater medium is now a reality. Within this context, providing a complete channel model that considers both channel path loss and channel impulse response in the presence of absorption and scattering is crucial for high-speed links design. The developed expression, which is expressed as a superposition of one impulsive component and one dispersive component, is used to determine the maximum achievable data rate.
