Meso-Structure Deformation Mechanism of EPS Silt Mixed Lightweight Soil Material under Cyclic Loading

This study aimed to systematically explore the meso-structure multi-phase volume deformation mechanism and the deformation characteristics relationships of EPS (expanded polystyrene sheet) silt lightweight soil between macro- and meso-structure of the complex composition silt lightweight soil under cyclic loading. A series of modified consolidation tests and numerical simulation of the typical mix ratio silt lightweight soil samples were carried out. It was found that the EPS content had a significant effect on the deformation characteristics. The deformation and stress-strain curves of EPS particles at the upper, middle, and lower points were different under the same cycle times in the numerical simulation.
