Abstract The influence of Ag7GeS5I nanoparticles on dielectric properties of planar-oriented 6CB liquid crystal was investigated at 293 K within the frequency range from 6 to 106 Hz. The concentration of nanoparticles varied between 0 to 0.1 wt.%. The obtained results were compared with the influence of the same concentrations of Сu7GeS5I nanoparticles. It was shown that the Сu7GeS5I nanoparticles influence the conductivity of the liquid crystal significantly less than the Ag7GeS5I nanoparticles.
