In this issue of Neurosurgery, Chung et al1 have described the largest case series to date of patients undergoing transsphenoidal surgery (TSS) for pituitary adenomas with a documented visual field defect confirmed with Automated Achromatic Static Perimetry with the Humphrey Visual Field Analyser, and complementary high definition Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). A total of 262 eyes from 155 patients were assessed, and Chung et al1 are to be commended for their analysis.
