Effect of Phase Transitions in High-Wax Crude Oil and Emulsions on Structural-and-Rheological Properties

Abstract

The influence of the formation temperature of emulsions and their water cut on their rheological properties and the amount and composition of deposits precipitated from them has been studied. It has been shown that at a formation temperature of 40°C, the emulsion is characterized by maximum values of viscosity, activation energy of viscous flow, and amount of the deposit precipitated and by higher temperatures of phase transitions due to crystallization of paraffin hydrocarbons.
