Interference Method for Estimating the Coordinates of a Moving Noise Source in Shallow Water Using High-Frequency Signals

The article presents the results of a high-frequency experiment to localize a moving noise source using a cylindrical small-sized vector–scalar array. Time–frequency processing was used, matched to the interference pattern formed by the source. The time dependences of the bearing, velocity, distance, and depth of the source are reconstructed. The experimental data are qualitatively and quantitative explained using a model two-beam interferogram formed by a direct beam and a beam reflected from the free surface.
