Thermal expansion of martensite in Ti29.7Ni50.3Hf20 shape memory alloy

Abstract Thermal expansion of martensite in Ti29.7Ni50.3Hf20 alloy was investigated by in situ neutron diffraction. It is found that the martensite exhibits a strong anisotropy in thermal expansion. The principal crystallographic axes and the coefficients of thermal expansion were determined.
