Expanding the Range of Frequencies in Determining the Direction of Sources of Sound Using Randomly Non-Equidistant Antenna Arrays

Abstract

The possibility is demonstrated of considerably expanding the range of working frequencies of a linear hydroacoustic antenna array by positioning the receiving elements non-equidistantly. The characteristics of an antenna array modeled with allowance for practical limitations are discussed. The results from processing experimental data are presented that show the effectiveness of the proposed technique.
