Following publication, the authors highlight an error in the equation used to describe productivity in the Supporting Information. Equation 0.1 in the Supporting Information should represent a female only, post‐breeding census; however, an error in the calculation has now been corrected from: urn:x-wiley:00218901:media:jpe13700:jpe13700-math-0001, to represent now a female only post‐breeding census thus: urn:x-wiley:00218901:media:jpe13700:jpe13700-math-0002.

The results of the original productivity values have been compared to those with the correct post‐breeding calculation and are provided in the table below. The original error meant that the value given for intrinsic productivity was consistently higher than the corrected post‐breeding value.

Models were re‐evaluated with the corrected post‐breeding census values. The difference in the resulting outputs are considered minimal and do not change the conclusions or validity of the method we provide in the paper. We correct for this error now in an updated Supporting Information.
