With one important exception (the decision of the Supreme Court in Lungowe & Others v Vedanta Resources dealing with the liability of parent companies for overseas environmental torts—see Section 9), the cases this year are essentially judicial review type cases involving some quite well-trodden areas such as air quality, habitats, environmental assessment and strategic environmental assessment (SEA). That, however, does not mean to say that they are without interest.
