Trakhtenberg, Ilegbusi and Kozhushner, have kindly stated issues and concerns regarding the underlying assumption of our paper entitled “Calculation of the electric potential and surface oxygen ion density for planar and spherical metal oxide grains by numerical solution of the Poisson equation coupled with Boltzmann and Fermi-Dirac statistics”. We believe that this comment is the result of misunderstanding of the contribution of our paper beyond the existing literature. This reply tries to clearly show the motivations and objectives of our paper.
