Influence of Rhenium and Wolfram on Microstructures and Performances of Selective Laser Melted GH4169 Nickel-Based Alloy

The microstructure and performances of GH4169 Ni-based alloy were studied after adding rhenium (Re) and wolfram (W) elements and then conducting heat treatment. The alloy containing Re element showed less δ phase after heat treatment. For both alloys containing W element and the GH4169 alloy without any element, δ phase and rectangular carbide were all precipitated after the heat treatment. The creep rupture life of the alloy added with Re element was higher than that of the alloy added with element W at high-temperature. When the mixture of 75% Na2SO4 and 25% NaCl was applied at 950°C under the same conditions, the thermal corrosion resistance of Ni-based alloy containing Re was obviously better than that of Ni-based alloy containing W. The hot corrosion resistance of GH4169 alloy without adding any element was slightly better than that of the alloy with W.
