In a recent editorial,(1) I outlined the future direction of Energy & Fuels for substantial expansion into broader domains of alternative energy research. Therefore, it is my great pleasure to inform our readers, authors, reviewers, and the broader fuels and energy research community on the appointments of three new Associate Editors. Our three newly appointed Associate Editors are (from left to right) Dr. Zongping Shao of Nanjing Tech University and Curtin University, Dr. Anthony Dufour of The French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), and Dr. Praveen Linga of the National University of Singapore. Image credits: Ran Ran, Laetitia Canabady-Rochelle, and the National University of Singapore, respectively. Dr. Zongping Shao is a distinguished professor at Nanjing Tech University, China, and also a John Curtin distinguished professor at Curtin University, Australia. Dr. Shao is an active and renowned researcher on (photo)electrochemical energy storage and conversion and new energy materials. He has been recognized as a Most-Cited Researcher in the category of Energy by Elsevier since 2015 and also a Highly-Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics in the past 3 years (2017–2019). The addition of Dr. Shao as an Associate Editor in the editorial team is timely for implementing the expansion of the journal into the areas of batteries, energy storage, fuel cell, and energy materials. Dr. Shao has commenced his appointment since this February. Dr. Anthony Dufour is a tenured research scientist at CNRS, France. He is an active and reputed researcher on thermochemical conversion of fuels and energy. Dr. Dufour brings a wide spectrum of expertise in fundamentals of fuel pyrolysis, reactions of carbonaceous materials, advanced spectrometric characterization and in situ analysis, heterogeneous catalysis, production of biofuels and biochemicals, development of thermochemical reactors, and interdisciplinary assessment of bioenergy routes. Prior to joining Energy & Fuels, Dr. Dufour served as Editor of the Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis (Elsevier). Dr. Dufour has commenced his appointment with Energy & Fuels since this March. Dr. Praveen Linga is Dean’s Chair Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the National University of Singapore. Dr. Linga is an international expert on developing clathrate hydrate technology for applications, such as gas storage, carbon dioxide capture and storage, and recovery of energy from methane hydrates. He is one of the recipients of the 2019 Outstanding Asian Researcher Award given by the Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan, and a Highly-Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics in 2018. Dr. Linga previously served as Subject Editor of Applied Energy (Elsevier), prior to his appointment as an Associate Editor of Energy & Fuels in the area of unconventional fossil fuels since this June. We welcome Drs. Shao, Dufour, and Linga to the diverse team of editors of Energy & Fuels. These appointments bring much needed new energy and expertise for expansion in respective research areas and global outreach. Views expressed in this editorial are those of the author and not necessarily the views of the ACS. This article references 1 other publications.
