Ti mesh loaded with multibranched Ag “bushes”:Preparation and high sensitivity to 5-nitroguaiacol

Abstract In the present work, Ti mesh loaded with multibranched Ag “bushes” was prepared. Then, the electrochemical behavior of 5-nitroguaiacol was explored on the as-prepared Ti mesh using cyclic voltammetry. At last, the mechanism of the electrochemical process was discussed. The results show that the as-prepared sample possesses remarkable sensitivity to 5-nitroguaiacol in water. The detection limit is 5 × 10-6 mol L-1 for 5-nitroguaiacol, implying that it is possible to fabricate an electrochemical sensor with high sensitivity which can be applied in the routine detection.
