Meroterpenoids from the fruits of Psoralea corylifolia

Fourteen new meroterpenoid compounds, corypsoriols A–N (114), and eight known ones (1522), were isolated from the fruits of Psoralea corylifolia. The absolute configurations of these new compounds were confirmed by NOESY spectrum, ECD calculation, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Corypsoriols A and B were a novel skeleton which possessed a 6/5/6 tricyclic system, and their plausible biosynthetic pathway was proposed. The cytotoxicity of uncyclized meroterpenoids were stronger than those of cyclized ones, and the half maximal inhibitory concentration values of bakuchiol (15) against NCI–N87, HepG2, HCT-116, Hela and B16–F10 cell lines were in the range of 5–20 μM.
