Psychotic illnesses often reflect cultural influences. For example, a religious person’s psychotic illness may manifest as delusions about his religion’s founder; another person may have delusions about the president of her country, or its intelligence services. As a culture changes, these shifts are evident in the presentation of psychiatric illnesses. A major shift in the last decade has been the rise of digital technology, such as software‐based applications on smartphones. We present the first published case of manic delusions focused on and worsened by digital technology.
